is the x clamp/x 1999 manga beater than the anime? what are the clamp must read manga?

i have read tokyo,rg veda, wish, lawful drug and i have watched x the anime…i just love clamps works
ah iam also reading Tsubasa , i dont know about CHOBITS and xxxholic

I am currently reading XXXholic and Tsubasa by Clamp.
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is an alternate world story with the characters Sakura, the princess of Clow and Syaoran a young archeologist. They grew up together and are in love but haven’t told each other yet. Outside forces do something that causes Sakura to pass out before she could tell Syaoran the truth. It seems that Sakura is very important to the universe or multi-verse. Sakura and Syaroan are sent to the time space witch. Meanwhile in another world, the country of Nihon (Japan) another princess Tomoyo has decided to banish her best warrior Kurogane out of her world for being arrogantly reckless. She wants him to learn a lesson,he is sent to the time space witch. During this time in another world again, Fai D. Flowright, the best wizard in the world did something to the King and runs for his life. He goes to the time space witch. The group meet at Yuko Ichihara’s shop. They pay the price, she gives them a mokona and sends them on their way. They have to travel the worlds and find the feathers that are pieces of Sakura’s soul, I think. The group gets along well, although they are from different worlds and have different reasons for doing what they do. I like it because they are many crossovers. Characters created by Clamp living their lives is strange ways because each world is different. If you’ve read Cardcaptor Sakura by Clamp. You would be interested in seeing what they did with the main characters.

XXXholic is about Kimihiro Watanuki, he sees ghost but doesn’t have the power to fight them. They won’t leave him alone. He finds himself in Yuko’s shop. She offers to help him for a price. Watanuki is now her servant. I like xxxholic because the stories are very interesting. They are ghost stories because Yuko is a witch and that is what Watanuki sees after all. They have cautionary tales that end badly for the arrogantly and obtuse.
XXXholic and Tsubasa are crossover stories but they can be read seperately as well. Yuko is a fabulous character. She is mysterious, irreverent and fashionable. She lives by her own code that will seem hard on some but I understand. Watanuki is responsible and the average teenage boy if the ghost would leave him alone. I think if he could have a normal life he would. But I doubt that would ever happen.
Both books are published in english by Del Rey. I have read the both stories are animes too.
