The name of a show about living on other planets?

For a short time there was a science-fiction show aired that was focused around theoretically living on other planets, including Mercury, Venus, and Mars. Tied in to the documentary were comic-book-esque sequences detailing the situations the traveling astronauts faced. At one point, the astronauts had settled in a crater on Mercury, and in another, had touched down on the surface of Venus from a floating base in the atmosphere (one of the astronauts died falling into a magma flow during a volcanic eruption). What was the name of the show?

Hi. I spent an hour looking for it, because I knew what show you were talking about because I remember seeing it. Didn’t find it.

Bing Crosby, Lucy Ball, and the Del Mar Race Track in California

In late 1930, the famous movie star and singer Bing Crosby was ready to pursue her dream of build a full horse in Del Mar in the Pacific Ocean breezes. Bing wanted a club where he and his friends would bet on horses all day and party all night. Such was the Del Mar Horse Track born and built.

When the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club and open road, Bing He took tickets at the door and gave welcome race fans what was to become one of the most famous racetracks in the U.S. States, visited by race fans, horse owners and sports fans worldwide.

In August 1938, the famous one-day race that put Del Mar on the map was carried out – The match between Seabiscuit and Ligaroti. Remember, this was a time when baseball was more popular than just horse racing in the American sports psyche. The race has been important headlines in sports sections of major newspapers across the country. Seabiscuit won the race quite distinct from a record crowd. The Del Mar Race Track became one of the most famous circuits in the world.

The following years brought even more stars and celebrities from Del Mar and the race track: Red Skelton, Douglas Fairbanks, Lucy Ball, Desi Arnaz ( "Lucy, some 'splainin to do!") and Ava Gardner. The issue was frequented by Joe Frisco, a mild stuttering comedian of the era, which would relate to his success in "Bing circuit like this:" I came by yesterday's circuit, but it was closed, so only SH-put the money in the door. "

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Del Mar was closed for the duration of the war. The fairground was initially used as a U.S. Marine training facility, then altered again and used to produce parts for the B-17 bombers that helped win the war. When the war ended, President Truman declared August 15, 1945 a national day of celebration. Most of 20,300 fans at horse racing were presented at the Del Mar track and a huge bet (in those days) one million dollars.

Shortly after the railroad began a special promotion. The "train / track special" customers brought race from Los Angeles to train Del Mar meeting and "observe the stars" became popular sport in the track and local customers. Today, more than 70 years (and nearly $ 60,000,000 in improvements) later, the racing season again to begin on July 22, 2009 through September 9.
